A zine by and for young artists
What is BOEM?
BOEM is a zine by and for young artists, showcasing work by both emerging and established talents from Ghent and beyond.
United around ever-changing themes, BOEM puts illustration at the forefront as a vibrant and autonomous art form.

This was Grafixx
It was an honour and a joy to collaborate with Grafixx on this thirteenth festival edition! For the very first time, visitors could explore BOEM artworks in an exhibition, meet and talk with our artists, discover our five editions, grab our prints at zinefest, and take part in our workshop. Together with the audience, we created more than 600 zines, allowing Grafixx visitors to collaborate with each other, with BOEM, and with the festival itself.
A big thank you to everyone who joined our workshop with such enthusiasm, admired the artworks, and supported us by purchasing our zines and prints at zinefest! We truly loved every moment.
A special thank you to the entire Grafixx team for their incredible behind-the-scenes support and for making this edition unforgettable! And of course to our artists for their trust and support.
If you missed Grafixx, don’t worry! Our independent exhibition at Zebrastraat is just around the corner, from 11/12 to 14/12. We’d love to see you there as we celebrate BOEM’s 1 year anniversary!
